Sen. Webber named Legislator of the Year by MAHP

LANSING, Mich. — Senate Health Policy Committee Minority Vice Chair Michael Webber (center), R-Rochester Hills, was honored as 2024 Legislator of the Year by Michigan Association of Health Plans Executive Director Dominick Pallone (right) and Deputy Director of Legislation and Advocacy Christine Shearer (left) during the organization’s annual conference last week.

MAHP recognizes lawmakers for leadership supporting high-quality, affordable, equitable and accessible health care for Michigan residents. Webber recently introduced Senate Bill 921 to establish a Mandate Review Commission to study the impact of proposed state mandates on health care insurers that exceed the essential health benefits required under the Affordable Care Act to ensure health care remains affordable in Michigan.
