Sen. Webber welcomes 50 new jobs at Ford’s Sterling Axle

LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Michael Webber applauded Thursday’s announcement from Ford Motor Co. that it will add 50 new jobs at its Sterling Axle Plant as part of a plan to expand production of the brand’s popular F-Series Super Duty pickups.

“Ford’s added investment into its Sterling Axle workforce will not only add quality job opportunities for the people of Metro Detroit but also encourage growth to our local economy,” said Webber, R-Rochester Hills. “This is encouraging news for Michigan’s workforce, which includes a legacy of autoworkers who rank among the best in the world.”

Sterling Axle is one of several production plants across North America that will benefit from Ford’s nearly $3 billion investment to increase production of its most popular and profitable vehicles, adding initial capacity for 100,000 F-Series Super Duty trucks, according to details released by the company.
